The healthcare sector is heavily reliant on people as its primary resource. Edenhope & District Memorial Hospital recognise staff as the organisation’s most valuable asset. We are fortunate to employ a complement of staff that are willing to meet the many and often difficult challenges they encounter each day at their workplace. This attitude and commitment is the principal reason that the health service continues to be successful.
EDUCATION & TRAINING
The hospital encourages all staff to participate in education and training. Significant budget allocations are made to assist those who wish to grow their skills and knowledge to do so. We have a resource room for staff to access our growing library of reference material. The room also provides computer access for all staff.
TRAINEESHIPS
The hospital sees youth training as an important opportunity to give experience to people in our community and also to provide suitably trained potential employees for our health service. The standards set by our trainees are of the highest order.
EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
The winners of Employee of the Year and Improvement Award of the Year were announced at our Annual General Meeting held on November 9th 2009. The Employee of the Year recipient was Annie Osborn. The Improvement of the Year recipient was Bronwyn Hobbs for her suggestion of installing slide sheet holders in the wards. Congratulations to these employees and all of our monthly award recipients.
