Changes to Dental Services

We are saddened to advise that Casterton Dental Clinic  will no longer be providing dental services from the Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital. We would like to take this opportunity thank Dr Tim Halloran and his team for their dedication and commitment to our community for over 20 plus years of providing dental services.

Emergency Dental Care

Please note that if you are experiencing dental pain or trauma and you are eligible for public dental care please call 5585 9800 so we can triage you and offer you a way to access the right dental care needed.

Service Review

Over recent years the Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital has had a significant in public funding for dental services. We recently reviewed our current dental practices, and have become aware of issues that are significantly impeding our ability to ensure sustainable long-term and adequate service funding for our community.  To seek further funding, we need to your help to illustrate the local demand for dental services.

Are you eligible for public dental care?

The following people are eligible for public dental care:

  • All children aged 0–12 years
  • Young people aged 13–17 years who hold a healthcare or pensioner concession card, or who are dependants of concession card holders
  • People aged 18 years and over, who are health care or pensioner concession card holders or dependants of concession card holders
  • All children and young people in out-of-home care provided by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), up to 18 years of age (including kinship and foster care)
  • All people in youth justice custodial care
  • All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • All refugees and asylum seekers

We need your help!

To support our request from Dental Health Services Australia for additional funding to attract another dentist, we need to show the demand for dental services in the area. You can help by completing the form on our dentist page and requesting to go on our waitlist for dental services. Even if you are not eligible under the public dental scheme, we are also creating a waitlist for private patients to also assist in attracting a new dentist to Edenhope.

We are eager to engage dental services into the local schools and further news on these programs will follow.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the dental program please call Jo Grant on 5585 9800.
