Grampians Health Edenhope welcomes new Triobike Taxi

A donation from the Edenhope Murray to Moyne team to enhance mobility and joy for residents and community members

Grampians Health Edenhope is excited to welcome a Triobike Taxi, which can enhance the quality of life for our Lakeside Living residents and community members to create lasting memories through shared experiences.

This new mobility solution has been made possible through the efforts of the Edenhope Murray to Moyne team, who took part in a 520-kilometre-long relay in early April to raise funds to purchase the trio bike.

The Triobike Taxi would enable our senior residents with enhanced mobility. With this state-of-the-art tri-wheel wonder, Grampians Health Edenhope is set to create meaningful experiences for Lakeside Living residents and older community members alike.

One of the key aspects that sets the Triobike Taxi apart is its remarkable design and the mighty e-power system, making it a pleasure to ride even when carrying two adults up a hill.

Designed to provide comfort and luxury, the bespoke cushions ensure a cozy and enjoyable ride. Importantly, the tailored seats accommodate individuals with walking difficulties, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all.

The Triobike Taxi is equipped with seatbelts for each passenger, ensuring a secure and comfortable journey. In adverse weather conditions, passengers can remain sheltered with the retractable hood and waterproof blanket, guaranteeing a smooth ride regardless of the elements.

To celebrate the arrival of the Triobike Taxi, Grampians Health Edenhope hosted a BBQ launch event on Wednesday night. This event was an opportunity to unveil the Triobike Taxi and to thank Murray to Moyne team for their generosity.

The BBQ also gave community members the chance to view the trio bike and to have a try at riding.

“We are immensely grateful to the Murray to Moyne team for their invaluable contribution, which will undoubtedly bring immeasurable joy to our Lakeside Living residents," Jo Grant, Primary Health Coordinator at Grampians Health Edenhope.

"The Triobike Taxi is wonderful addition for our community but we need your help. We are inviting community members who might be interested in volunteering to take passengers for a ride to contact us.”

Community members interested in becoming volunteer riders can express their interest either by popping into the Health & Wellbeing Hub or by calling us on 5585 9830.
