Kowree Nursing Home

Kowree Nursing Home is situated within a residential area of Edenhope close to Lake Wallace. The Home is ideally positioned on the same site as the Edenhope & District Memorial Hospital and is adjacent to the acute care section of the hospital.

This facility accommodates 18 residents who require 24 hour care by qualified nursing staff. The facility is on one level to allow ease of access, assisting quality and comfortable accommodation in a welcoming environment.

The spacious airy activity area overlooks a garden and courtyard fully maintained by our onsite gardener. The garden area has secure fencing with keypad access to ensure the view is not obstructed, but provides peace of mind for resident safety. Nutrition and hydration needs are discussed with each resident/relative taking into account individual preferences and needs as well as religious and cultural dietary customs. Menus are frequently revised and residents are given the opportunity to have input. Relatives are invited to dine with their resident for Sunday Lunch.

The Kowree Nursing Home provides high care respite when beds are available. Respite services are also available in the Acute ward for people who may require a small amount of time in residential care due to ill health or if their regular carers are unable to provide care needs at home. To use the respite facilities an Aged Care Assessment (ACAS) is required which indicates the requirement for high care respite.

Specialised chairs are available for residents with limited mobility to enable them to spend time out of bed socialising with other residents and assists with reducing risk of pressure injuries.
